# How to use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Some companies prefer their users to log in with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This guide explains the prerequisites for using 2FA and provides a step-by-step guide on how to use 2FA with the Vormats app.

**Prerequisites:**

*   2FA has to be enabled for your Vormats account. If you want to make use of 2FA, please reach out to [support@vormats.com](mailto:support@vormats.com)
    
*   An Authenticator app, for example: Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator

**Note:** The authenticator app that has been used in this guide is Google Authenticator.

### Setting up 2FA

**Important:**If you haven't logged in yet for the first time to your Vormats account, please make sure to follow the installation instructions first, which you received in your e-mail.

1.  Log in with your Vormats credentials: e-mail address and password
    
2.  After pressing log in, you will see a step-by-step guide to connect the Vormats app with your authenticator app
    
3.  Copy the code. **Tip:** Simply press the purple button to copy.
    
4.  Open the authenticator app
    
5.  Create a new account in your authenticator app
    
    1.  Give a name to your account (for example: Vormats)
        
    2.  Paste the code you copied in step 3
        
6.  Copy the temporary code from the authenticator app and go back to the Vormats app.
    
7.  The temporary code will be automatically filled in the Vormats app. After clicking **Next**, 2FA will be activated for your Vormats account.
    

### Logging in with 2FA

1.  Log in with your Vormats credentials: e-mail address and password
    
2.  Open the authenticator app
    
3.  Copy the temporary code
    
4.  Go back to the Vormats app. The code will be filled in automatically
    
5.  Click continue and you are logged in
