Video transitions are a crucial aspect of video editing, allowing for seamless connections between video clips. In this article, you can learn how to add transitions to your Vormats video

|| Note that you can only add transitions between clips; transitions from intro or to outro are not supported.

To add transition:

Open your video in with clip organizer
Hover mouse between two clips
Click on the + button that appears and choose the Transition option from the menu.

|| By default, all transitions have a one-second duration and are divided in half between the two scenes.

Click on the added transition to choose the type from the two available options: to black or to white.

| While a transition is chosen, all other options related to scenes (Intro/Outro, trimming, and Text panel) are hidden. Click on the scene to see them again.

Check the transitions right away in the player.

Don't forget to click Save changes when you are happy with result.

If you want to edit the start and/or the end of your video, it’s possible to trim your Vormats video.

|| It's only possible to trim the beginning and end of the video.

Open video page on Vormats web
Choose Edit option from right sidebar.

Choose scene that you want to trim.
Choose Trim option from editor right sidebar.

|| Intro and Outro clips are not allowed to be trimmed, so while one of these clips is chosen, the trim option is disabled

To trim your video simply drag the start or end control to adjust the required timestamp.

For even greater accuracy, use your keyboard's right and left arrow buttons, which allow you to step through the video in 100ms step.
Editor allows to preview trimmed part immediately and display updated duration.
Right sidebar has undo and redo actions which help to manage edits.

| If you want to undo all the changes, you can select the option 'Revert to original'. This will restore your video to its original state.

How to install the Vormats browser extension

To easily start a recording, you will need access to the Vormats Chrome extension. We have the extensions available for the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.

Visit the Chrome Web Store here.

|| If your organisation has disabled downloading from the Chrome Web Store, you can download the extension from the Microsoft Edge Add-Ons. The download link can be found here

Select Add to Chrome and then Add extension.
After you've installed the Chrome Web extension, you can click on the extension to log in to your account. You'll be redirected to the login page.
When recording your first video, you will be prompted to enable microphone and camera access.

Important: If you can't find the extension, it's possible that it's hidden. You can select which extensions are visible. Here's how:

For Google Chrome:

Click the puzzle icon to see all your extensions.
